Galatians 6:1 — Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual shoud restore him gently.
Just a quick note on restoring…
We should rebuke our brothers and sisters who are caught up in a sin. In our rebuking, though, we should restore. That means we are to strengthen, perfect, complete, and to make one what he ought to be. We should restore them, not tear them down. There is a huge difference – restoration is out of love and builds the other up, but tearing the other down is mostly just effective in making the other feel condemned. And that can’t be right because there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
That being said, let’s restore one another. What a good word – restore.
