i’ve been at the verge conference about missional living for the past few days. it was really good to get my mind more focused on living on mission for Christ and church planting. here are just a few of the many, many take-away points…
- if you love your mission more than your Savior, your Savior will not love your mission; don’t lose your first love (Rev. 2:4-5)
- so often in the church our knowledge is beyond our obedience
- the way to worship is to obey
- every believer has spiritual gifts that God intends to be used for His glory; leaders must get the congregation of a church to not just be spectators, but to actually get involved and use their gifts
- train your people for the ordinary, not the spectacular; in other words, life should be missional – not just events
overall the conference was good. i felt like God has been challenging me a lot in the past few weeks…

Good thoughts! I especially liked the first one. I think it goes along with something that God has been teaching me for a while: “Serve Me in the way that I want you to serve Me and not in the way that you want!”
